st. patrick, who was a brit, was captured by irish pirates and held on captivity for thirteen years in which he learned gaelic and tons of irish lore. he escaped went back to the church and convinced them that theres this whole islend nation that NEEDS to be converted to the ways of the cross. so in metaphor , he is atributed with chasing all of the SNAKES out of ireland meaning protestants. and its said that he, not unlike a few other catholic priests, was a pedophile. so, on this most glorious of mondays in the month of march, raise a glass, cup or fist, in honor of this SAINT... and have a drink for me as well.
